Lady Bobcats hold off Western for 44-38 SOC win

LATHAM — With the game on the line, the Green Lady Bobcats went to the line and the got everything lined up right.
Facing a possible upset on the road, the Green Lady Bobcats hit clutch shots in the fourth quarter and held off the Western Lady Indians 44-38 in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Thursday.
The Lady Bobcats were clutch at the foul line in the fourth quarter as they converted 9-of-15 free throw attempts.
Kasey Kimbler hit a 3-pointer and bucket for the only Lady Bobcats’ points from the field in the quarter as they outscored Western 14-9.
Kimbler finished with 20 points to lead Green (13-5, 10-2). Kame Sweeney added 9 points.
Jordyn Rittenhouse had 15 points for Western (2-16, 2-8).
Kimbler and Kimberly Brown hit 3-pointers as Green took an 8-7 first quarter lead. Alyssa Marhoover scored 5 points for Western.
Each team scored 11 points in the second quarter and it was 19-18 at the half.
Kimbler hit another trey and scored 7 points with Sweeney adding 4. Chloe Beckman and Alicia Francis scored 4 each for the Lady Indians.
Both teams scored 11 points again in the third quarter as Green was left clinging to a 30-29 lead.
Anna Knapp and Kimbler hit 3-pointers and Sweeney was 3-for-4 at the line in the quarter. Rittenhouse had a 3-poiner and 5 points and Beckman 4 points.
