PEDRO — The game began early on Saturday, but the offenses never seemed to get started.
In a game where the teams struggled offensively, the Grace Christian Soldiers downed the Rock Hill Redwomen 30-20 on Saturday.
Samantha Wells hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter as the Lady Soldiers went up 10-9. Savannah Cade hit a pair of 3-pointers in the quarter for the Redwomen.
Cade had another triple and Lucy Simpson a basket in the second quarter as Rock Hill came back to tie the game 15-all at the half.
Shay Cicenas had a 3-pointer in the quarter for Grace Christian.
Hadyn Bailey had a 3-pointer and Emily Hutchinson scored 3 points while the defense held Rock Hill to just one point as the Lady Soldiers took a 21-16 lead.
The Lady Soldiers got 4 points from Cicenas while Hutchison was 3-of-4 at the line in the fourth quarter to outscore the Redwomen 9-4 and seal the win.
Simpson had all 4 of Rock Hill’s points in the fourth quarter.
Wells scored 10 points to lead Grace Christian (16-3).
Cade hit three 3-pointers and scored 9 points and Simpson got 7 points to pace Rock Hill (5-15).
UP NEXT: Rock Hill is at Symmes Valley on Monday and Gallipolis on Thursday.
