Cheering the cheer team
Last week Fairland High School’s cheerleaders made it to finals in the 2020 UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida. This team is fairly young, with only one senior. This was also the first trip the school has made to a national competition in 20 years, so it is even more impressive that they were able to take fourth place in the championship.
These student athletes have dedicated hours upon hours of their time training their bodies in order to be able to perform stunts, and in unison. They received zero deductions on three routines, which means there were no safety, rule or time violations.
Their hard work has paid off, and they have made our community proud.
Congratulations, Fairland. Not only did you place, your team did it on your first trip. We look forward to continuing to watch your team grow and excel.
