Jarrod West was named to the Conference USA Men’s Basketball All-Conference team on Friday.
A win on Saturday would clinch the sixth seed in the Conference Tournament and Marshall would face the winner of the UTEP and Rice game Saturday on Wednesday night in Frisco.
MU would enter the conference tournament in the seventh seed with a loss and would play UTSA or UAB.
West enters the contest with 202 career steals, seven away from breaking MU’s men’s basketball program mark of 208 set by Skip Henderson.
Jannson Williams has 147 career blocks, fourth most in men’s basketball program history. He is two away from passing Omar Roland for third all-time.
The Herd’s 94-82 win over FAU on Wednesday marked the most points scored in a game this season for the team and it was its first time winning when giving up 80 or more points.
The Roadrunners enter Saturday’s contest coming off a loss at Old Dominion on Wednesday, 84-59.
UTSA is led by Jhivvan Jackson. Jackson is averaging 26.9 points per game which ranks second in Division I men’s basketball behind Marquette’s Markus Howard’s 27.7 points per game. The guard is making 42.3 percent of his shots from the field, leads the Roadrunners in steals (45), and is second on the team in assists (72) and rebounds (168).
Keaton Wallace is second on the team in scoring with 18.6 points per game while leading the Roadrunners in assists with 92 and is second in steals with 39.
