The department did not specify where in the county the case was confirmed or any details.

According to WSAZ, the person was diagnosed at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.

The health department said it is continuing to urge residents to practice social distancing and avoid large groups.

“We were fully aware this was only a matter of time and we urge residents not to panic,” the department said. “Grocery stores and other services not already closed will remain open and a large influx of customers would only put each of you at risk. We thank you for your continued cooperation.”
