James Wetzel

Oct. 1, 1942– March 31, 2020

James Marshall Wetzel, 77, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center, Ironton. He was born Oct. 1, 1942, to the late John and Ethel (Grimm) Wetzel.

He is survived by his wife, Doretta (Pruitt) Wetzel.

James attended Coal Grove Schools and was a United States Navy veteran. He worked at NAPA Auto Parts and was a retired cab driver for the Sureway Cab Company.

James enjoyed bowling, and watching sports, especially football and loved being with his family and grandkids. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Wetzel; a daughter, Kathy Wetzel; two brothers, Stanley Wetzel and Richard Wetzel; two sisters, Laura Singleton and Doris Wetzel; and a half-brother, Charles Wolfe.

Along with his wife, those left to cherish his memory are a son, Keith (Mary) Wetzel; a daughter: Karen (Donald) Cline; two brothers, George Wetzel and John (Chris) Wetzel; and two sisters, Helen Kyle and Martha Wilson; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Robert Hodge II

Robert F. Hodge II, 47, of Richmond, Virginia, formerly of Lavalette, West Virginia, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020, in Richmond, Virginia.

He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Hodge.

Private family services will be held at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home Chesapeake. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, West Virginia.
