Billy Conn Sr.

Sept. 4, 1951–May 23, 2020

On May 23, the Lord called His faithful servant, Billy F. Conn Sr., home after an extended illness.

Billy was born Sept. 4, 1951 in Ironton, to the late Frank and Genevieve (Scherer) Conn.

Billy was a 1969 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and he was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. In recent years, he attended Rock Camp Methodist Church and loved teaching Sunday school.

He retired in 2016 from Kentucky Electric Steel in Ashland, Kentucky after 42 years.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Nancy (Moore) Conn; a sister, Diane Donahue; and a brother, Larry Conn.

Those left to mourn his loss and rejoice in his heavenly journey, are his wife, Lena Blevins Clark Conn, of Coal Grove; three daughters, Angie (Ron) Massie, of Oak Hill, Reva (Sam) Hall, of Coal Grove, and Shelli (Brain) Malone, of Ironton; a son, Billy Conn Jr.; two stepdaughters, Julie Rucker, of Coal Grove and Christina Bowen, of Kitts Hill; a stepson, Joe (Dianna) Clark, of Clifton, Illinois; and sister, Joyce (Jim) McCloud, of Ironton; eight grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Bill loved his family, serving his savior, hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today at Community Cemetery in Deering, with Pastor Brad Jenkins and Ronnie Massie officiating.

The family would like to thank the nurses on K3 at Kings Daughter’s Medical Center for their loving and professional care of Bill. They would also like to thank the care workers at Harbour Health in Ironton.

I can see Bill rejoicing with a healed body with his Lord, who welcomed him home with “Welcome, my true and faithful servant.”
