PINE GROVE —The Beatles once sang, “Rain, I don’t mind. Shine, the weather’s fine.” And that was the perfect tune for the Ironton Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association last week.
With a rainy forecast expected for Tuesday morning, the Ironton Ladies Nine Hole group didn’t mind as they switched their regular meeting day to Thursday at the Pine Grove Golf Club.
Hostess Becky Dillow did an eat-and-speak as she announced the day’s events while the group ate the tasty breakfast treats.
The switch gave the women terrific weather and the scores proved to be terrific as well.
When the women returned to the clubhouse, they also posted their scored for the ongoing Ringer Tournament.
Dillow announced the event winner during lunch and they included Margaret Donley, Sharon Fox and Pat Lambert.
After the morning of golfing, the ladies enjoyed lunch and the naming of event winners.
Dora Carmon will serve as next Tuesday’s hostess when the group meets at 9 a.m. for a brief business meeting and breakfast followed by golfing at 9:30.
Members of the club this season are: Pat Lambert, April Graf, Dora Carmon, Jeanine Spradlin, Sharon Fox, Margaret Donley, Becky Dillow, Pat Riggs, Lana Moore and Joyce Lewis.
New members and guests are always welcomed as the group strives to be competitive but more importantly to have a good time.
