John Jenkins

June 7, 1960–Nov. 30, 2023

 

John Craig Jenkins, 63, of Ironton, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at his residence in. The Ironton native was born June 7, 1960, to his late father, John Charles Jenkins and his mother, Mary Jeanette (Bryant) Jenkins, of Ironton.

John was a 1978 graduate of Ironton High School and went on to attend both The Ohio State University and Ohio University.

He retired from Jenkins Radiator Wrecker Service after thirty years as a radiator and wrecker man.

John was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who loved four-wheeling and spending time with friends.

John was a passionate NASCAR fan and never missed a race.

He was a loving uncle and always attended all activities and special events for them.

John was a kind and loving caregiver to his mother and was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Eloise Jenkins and William and Gladys Bryant; and his loving dog, Sholtz.

Those left to cherish his memory in addition to his mother, are his sister, Julie (George) Disney, of Ironton; his niece, Isabella (Austin) Hopper, of Ironton; and nephew, Nathan Disney, of Ironton.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Pastor Sam Peters officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, noon until time of the service.

Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
