FRANKLIN FURNACE — The Green Lady Bobcats made something out of nothing.

Holding the Reedsville Eastern Lady Eagles to no points in the second quarter propelled the Lady Bobcats to a 60-57 win on Saturday,

Green (2-2) was able to erase a 3-point deficit and turn it into a 14-point lead and then the Lady Bobcats half off a furious comeback in the fourth quarter to get the win.

Robertson and Brooklyn Barkey scored 4 points each and Lily Simpson hit a 3-pointer for Eastern’s total as they took an 11-8 lead in the first quarter.

Abbie Knapp and Matti Hayslip scored 4 points each for Green.

Green threw a shutout in the second quarter by outscoring the Lady Eagles 17-0.

Knapp had 10 points with Mylee Brown hitting a 3-pointer and Mylee Hunt adding basket for Green.

Eastern converted 7-of-10 free throws with Hope Reed scoring 9 points including 3-of-4 at the line in the third quarter and the Lady Eagles cut the deficit to 37-26.

Knapp and Hayslip each drained a 3-pointer while Knapp was 8-of-8 at the foul line for the Lady Bobcats.

Eastern kicked its offense into high school in the fourth quarter and outscored Green 31-21 but it proved to be too little, too late.

Simpson knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and was 6-of-7 at the line as she scored 14 points in the fourth quarter. Reed had 10 points as she made 6-of-7 free throws.

But Knapp had 14 points, Haslip hit another trey and scored 5 points as Green held on for the win.

Kanpp poured in a game-high 39 points to lead Green. Hayslip added 14 points before fouling out.

Reeds and Simpson scored 19 points each and Robertson 12 points for Eastern (0-4).

Green will host Oak Hill on Thursday.
