“It’s a time to spend with families and enjoy being together,” Tammy Gill, activities director at Harbor Health Care in Ironton, said of Tuesday’s event.

As they do each year, the senior living facility hosted a Christmas dinner for resident and their families.

The event was so large, it was spread out over multiple dining rooms and they served more than 200 people, Gill said.

The popularity of the event was evident pulling into the location, with the parking lot overflowing with far more vehicles than usual.

Inside, staff warmly greeted the visitors at the entrance and directed them to the festively-decorated dining areas.

In addition to a full holiday dinner, which included turkey and dressing and desserts, guests were treated to Christmas music.

Gill said this follows up a pie social that they organized surrounding the Thanksgiving holiday.

She said she advises families to follow Harbor Health Care’s Facebook page, where she announces events and shares photos from past events at the facility.
