Yvonne DeKay School of Dance performs annual Christmas show
Parents, family and friends of students at the Yvonne DeKay School of Dance got to see a holiday showcase of talent on Saturday.
The school performed their annual Christmas show in the auditorium of Ironton High School, following a full dress rehearsal the preceding day.
Yvonne Sinnott, owner of the school, said they have hosted the annual performance for more than 25 years.
This year’s show, an original script written by Sinnott, was themed “The Grinch Drives Santa Plum Nutty”
The show featured dancers from toddlers through high school seniors and concluded, as it does each year, with a Nativity scene performance.
“Jesus is the reason for the season,” Sinnott said, noting that she insists on the Nativity being the centerpiece of the show each year.
Sinnott said the show nearly sold out and saw a major increase in attendance this year.

The school hosts two major showcases each year, with the other taking place in the spring.
