Rita Jenkins

Rita June Jenkins, 56, of Kitts Hill, passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.

She was born Aug. 6, 1967, in Lawrence County, daughter of the late Wayne and Irene Jenkins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Larry Jenkins, Linda Riedel, Danny Jenkins and Dwayne “Red” Jenkins; and a nephew, Michael Shawn Jenkins.

Rita graduated from Rock Hill High School.

She was Dawson-Bryant High School’s secretary and loved all the kids and staff.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Kelli Jenkins; her boyfriend, Billy Triplett; two sisters, Donna (David) Waugh and Karen (Wallace “Bub”) Humphrey; three brothers, Gary (Robin) Jenkins, David Jenkins, and Dale (Nada) Jenkins; two grandchildren, Alexa Porter and Cameron Porter; two aunts, Clara Brown and June Jenkins; her loving dog, Duffy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Wallace Family Funeral Home, South Point, with Ernest Massie and Ed Jenkins officiating.

Burial will follow at Mamre Cemetery, Kitts Hill.

Family and friends may visit 11 a.m.–1 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
