Wade Dyer

Wade Carroll Dyer, 76, of Wheelersburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 20, 2023, while vacationing with his family in Willemstad, Curacao.

He was born Sept. 17, 1947 in Salyersville, Kentucky, to the late Woodrow Dyer and Maxeline (Patton) Dyer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy Heaberlin Dyer.

Wade was a 1965 graduate of Wheelersburg High School and studied Forestry at Shawnee State University.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and Army National Guard. He was an avid member and deacon of Germany Hollow Free Will Baptist Church.

Wade retired from Armco Steel after 26 years of service in the masonry and inspection departments.

After retirement from Armco, he worked for the Scioto County Engineer, Allard Excavation and summer maintenance at Ironton City Schools.

He took great pride in his John Deere tractor and his manicured farm pasture.

Some of his greatest joys were hunting, fishing, going to church, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James Dean (Jodi) Dyer and Kelli (Jason) Ford, both of Ironton; his grandchildren, Josh Dyer, Eli Ford, Peyton Ford and Jacob Ford, all of Ironton. He also leaves behind his siblings; Betty (Gene) Scheibly, of Dayton, Diane (Mike) Knight, of Indianapolis, Indiana, Danny (Carolyn) Dyer, of Wheelersburg, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St. Ironton, with Pastor Steve Luster officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
