Glendal “Glen” Seagraves, 81, of South Point, formerly of Summit, Kentucky, went to be home with His Lord on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia, after a brief illness.
Glen was born Jan. 11, 1943, in Ashville, the son of the late Glen Seagraves and Cora Iva Castle Seagraves.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Spradlin and Faye Seagraves; one brother, Dallas Ray Seagraves; and one grandson, David Scott “Scottie” Seagraves.
Glen is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Gail Beaver Seagraves; one daughter, Robyn Seagraves (Mike) Adkins, of Proctorville; one son, Greg (Cathy) Seagraves, of South Point; three sisters, Anna Jean Stevens, Betty Lou Wilburn, Vickie Fraley all of Ashland, Kentucky; one brother, Leroy Seagraves, of Ashland, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Jacob (Meagan) Seagraves, Chelsie (Trevor Rogers) Seagraves, Amanda (Chris Blake) Adkins, Miranda Vititoe (Bubba) Wood, Candice Adkins, Meagan Adkins (Darius) Crawford and Nichole (Jeremy) Zamarron; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Glen proudly served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam era of 1962-1966.
He was employed by the Ironton Fire Department from October 1966 until his retirement in June 1993.
He was a member of Solida Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon for many years.
Glen was also a 16-year past board member of the South Point School Board. He was a past 35-year member of South Point Little League. He was the district administrator of Lawrence County and Scioto County for many years.
He was on the International Board of Directors for Little League Baseball for three years and the Ohio Administrator for many years.
Funeral Service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Solida Baptist Church, South Point, with Pastor Aaron Childers officiating.
Friends may visit the church from 5–7 p.m. before the service. A Military Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, with the Funeral procession leaving Wallace Family Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m.
