Charles Stapleton

Charles Scott Stapleton, 54, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

He was born Oct. 20, 1969 in Ironton, to his late parents, Harold “Red” Stapleton and Linda (Dawson) Stapleton.

He attended South Point Schools and enjoyed coon hunting, gambling, and collecting Zippos.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchild, Kylee Griffing.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tara Stapleton, of South Point, Scotty Stapleton, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, Tiffany Stapleton, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, Stacy Griffing, of Coal Grove, Cody Stapleton, of Ashland, Kentucky, Kayla Stapleton, of Ashland, Kentucky; his brothers, Ken and Tom Stapleton; sisters, Terri Stapleton and Tammy Collins; eight grandsons and seven granddaughters.

There will be a memorial service at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
