The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings played in the Cal Ripken Jr. Experience this week and posted a 2-2 record the first 2 days.

“We played some good teams and we played some good ball,” said Lady Vikings coach Jeff “Odie” Estep. “We hit the ball well and we had some good pitching, but we had some breakdowns that hurt us. We learned a lot playing these teams.”

The Lady Vikings opened the showcase with a 7-1 win on Monday over the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats behind the pitching of Brenna Tibbs who fired a 3-hitter.

Tibbs struck out 14, walked 2 and the only run was unearned.

The offense was led by Ally Hawk who was 2-for-3 with 2 inside-the-park home runs and 4 runs batted in.

Tibbs gave the Lady Vikings a 1-0 lead in the first inning with her own inside-the-park home run. Hawk had a 2-run homer in the second and fourth innings.

Kaycee Thompson was 2-3 with a double, Marley Ferguson 1-3 with a triple, Desiree Simpson was 1-3 and Tibbs 1-3.
