Comment period open for State Route 141 culvert replacement

CHILLICOTHE — As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation—District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a culvert replacement project on State Route 141 in Lawrence County.

It is proposed to replace the culvert on State Route 141 between Oak Ridge Road and Sharp’s Creek Road in Lawrence County. The project is located in the rural area of Lawrence Township.

The project will require approximately 0.089 acres of permanent right-of-way.

The project will require approximately 0.026 acres of temporary right-of-way.

The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project.

The state detour will be State Route 141 to U.S. 52 to State Route 243 to State Route 378 to State Route 217. The state detour is approximately 25 miles.

The environmental commitment date is June 10. The project is currently expected to be awarded April 1, 2025.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 14, 2020, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
