“Our mission is to be the best source of news and information for all of Lawrence County. This is just the next step in that process as we work to bring residents their news from their communities and those around it,” Tribune publisher Michael Caldwell said. “All three editions will allow our readers to get the news they want and have something they can truly call their own. We want the community to embrace these efforts, share stories and content with us to help create a newspaper that impacts their lives.”

The Proctorville Tribune and Chesapeake Tribune will be available in more than 70 newspaper racks and dealer locations in those communities. The product will be offered for free through a special sponsorship agreement with St. Mary’s Medical Center. The hospital will pay for the production and distribution of the newspaper.

“St. Mary’s Medical Center is committed to Lawrence County and saw the importance of helping us make this positive impact in the community. That has allowed us to take this bold approach, which is a great departure from traditional paid newspapers,” Caldwell said. “We wanted to try something different and put the focus more on serving the community than making a few quarters. We feel that showcasing the great people and activities of the Tri-State is the most important thing.”

Home delivery of the Chesapeake and Proctorville editions are still available, for a modest delivery charge.
