Kermit and Pat Nance of Deering announce the engagement of their daughter, Alisa Renee Nance, to Jason Edward Weigandt, son of Bryan Weigandt of Tom’s River, N.J., and Mary Ann Weigandt of Beachwood, N.J.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Cecil and Lillian Nance of Deering and Neva Crabtree of Oak Hill, W.Va. She is a 1991 graduate of Coal Grove High School. She received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Ohio University and is a 2008 graduate of West Virginia University with a master of arts degree in graphic design. Alisa has worked as a visual journalist for The Herald-Dispatch, The News and Observer in Raleigh, N.C., and The New York Times. She is employed as a graphic designer for WeSave, Inc. in Morgantown, W.Va.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Edward and Virginia Krakowski of West Keansburg, N.J., and Joan Weigandt, of Fairmont, W.Va., and the late Frank Weigandt. He graduated with a bachelor of arts in communications from Rowan University, in Glassboro, N.J. He is the public relations manager for Racer Productions in Morgantown, W.Va. He is also a broadcast announcer for AMA Motocross and Supercross races on the Speed Channel, as well as XM Radio.

The wedding will be Sept. 6, 2008, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Morgantown. The couple will reside in Morgantown.
