Ironton Police are asking for anyone with any information about a Saturday armed robbery to contact the department.

At 1:40 a.m. Saturday a white male, armed with a handgun, entered into the Speedway at 808 Park Ave., demanding cash, according to Detective Capt. Chris Bowman.

“According to reports the cashier complied and the suspect fled on foot from the store with an undetermined amount of money,” a release from Bowman stated. “The suspect was last seen running from the business toward the BP station located next door to Speedway.”

The suspect was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, black ski mask, dark-colored gloves and blue jeans. He is medium build and was armed at the time of the robbery.
