GREENUP, Ky. - A Pedro man who is wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Ironton Friday will likely serve his time in Kentucky on charges there before coming back across the river to face the law here.

Greenup County District Court Judge Robert Conley sentenced Richard Riffe, 18, of 85 Township Road 155E, was sentenced Friday to two 45-day terms in the Greenup County Jail for violating an emergency protective order and resisting arrest. Those two sentences will be served concurrently. A charge of alcohol intoxication was merged with the charge of violating an emergency protective order, according to information from the Greenup County Circuit Clerk's Office.

Riffe's Kentucky sentence may be over in 45 days but his brush with the law will last a bit longer: He is also accused of holding up the Rich Oil station at Third and Monroe streets early Friday morning.

"We're waiting on a warrant from the prosecutor's office now," Ironton police detective Jim Akers said Monday. "We'll probably let him serve his time over there and then bring him back over here."

A gas station employee told authorities Riffe held up the place at knifepoint, but since he was not wearing a mask, was identifiable.

He was arrested shortly after that in Raceland, Ky., when police there responded to a disturbance call.

Akers said Friday that Riffe had gotten out of juvenile custody within the last year.
