SOUTH POINT - Think you are too busy to work out?

Don't worry. The new Curves, located in Westview Plaza II, offers women a 30-minute fitness solution.

Owners Liz Owens, Vic Navy and Sharon McCardell are all originally from the Huntington, W.Va. area, and they say being a new member of the South Point community excites them.

"Helping say goodbye to unhealthy lifestyles, unattainable diet resolutions and unreasonable fitness regiments gives women a new outlook on exercise and feeding their body properly," Liz Owens said. "We look forward to providing women in this community a complete workout in only 30 minutes that will ensure they can stick to the program and sustain a healthy weight."

The 30 minute workout members get at Curves is equivalent to some traditional 1-hour workouts. The Curves workout includes circuit, strength and cardiovascular training.

"It’s fast, fun and safe," Owens said.

Members at Curves can also benefit from incentives and games to help motivate them, and help them work together and support one another. The trainers offer one-on-one training and the facility is designed so women can encourage one another as they move around the circuit.

"I feel like I’m working out with my best friend in my best friend’s living room," Liz Owens said.

There are no appointments necessary after your first visit, members can enjoy a self-paced workout - there are no class times. Curves provides a supportive environment with a common sense weight loss program, designed to help break the weight loss cycle.

The facility also has an experienced staff. Before becoming an owner of this location, Owens was an assistant manager at Curves in New Jersey for three years.

Curves is celebrating its opening all week.
