School is out for the students, but moms can get in a few lesson.

The Cincinnati Reds are offering a series of informative and entertaining ladies-only luncheons called Baseball 101 Luncheons for Ladies.

The next luncheon is Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Great American Ball Park and is hosted by Reds Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman. The format features Reds players and coaches along with their wives and other special guests.

One of the highlights is "The Newly-red Game," a spoof of the famous TV game show "The Newlywed Game." The spoof features Reds players and their spouses.

Herd, Ohio on TV

The Marshall Thundering Herd football schedules have been printed and each game has a time listed except one, Kansas State.

Well, that's been changed, too.

Thanks to ESPN, Kansas State's visit to Marshall will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

The game marks the first time a Big 12 Conference team has visited Marshall. It is the first meeting between the two teams since the Herd shocked No. 6-ranked K-State on its home turf on Sept. 20, 2003.

It was Marshall's first win-ever over an opponent ranked in the Associated Press top 10.

Marshall's home schedule includes: Sept. 1 William & Mary; Sept. 10 Kansas State; Oct. 1 SMU; Oct. 15 UAB; Nov. 8 Southern Mississippi; and Nov. 19 East Carolina.

Solich's debut on ESPNU

The Ohio Bobcats will benefit from the hiring of former Nebraska coach Frank Solich in television exposure.

Solich will make his debut as the Bobcats coach at noon Saturday, Sept. 3, at Northwestern and the game will be aired by ESPNU. In fact, four of Ohio's games this season will be televised by ESPNU including a visit to Virginia Tech on Sept. 17 at 3:30 p.m.

Ohio's game against Northwestern will be the 1,000th game in school history.

Solich's presence is being felt at the ticket off, too. Ticket sales continue at a brisk pace and the Ohio ticket office is making it even easier … and affordable.

Ohio's home schedule features Pittsburgh, Kent State, Ball State, Toledo and Miami, Ohio.
