Africentric knocks Jeeps out of tournament

The Associated PressCOLUMBUS - Donald Suel scored 29 points and Columbus Africentric took over in the third quarter to defeat South Webster 70-56 in a Division IV regional final Friday night.

The two teams were tied at 28 when the Nubians (25-1) ripped off 13 straight points in the third quarter. Africentric increased the lead to 20 with a 15-2 run in the fourth.

Laquawn Perry scored 12 points and Lance Sullivan added 10 points and eight assists for the Nubians.

Nick Aldridge scored 10 of his 17 points in the first quarter for South Webster (23-2).

Africentric will play Continental in the state semifinals on Thursday in Columbus.
