An Ironton business is getting a new home.

The Counseling Center is moving from its current location at 608 Park Ave. to larger accommodations at 2115 S. Seventh St.

"We've grown here," intake specialist Lynn Saurborne said. "We've just grown out of room and need more space. This (new office) will make our clients more comfortable."

Center staff began discussing the idea of relocation approximately nine months ago when it became clear they needed more space. The center has been at its Park Avenue location more than five years.

Offices will be

closed for a few days during the week of March 14 to allow for the transition, but will re open March 17.

The Counseling Center serves approximately 100 clients a month at its Ironton office. In addition to substance abuse counseling, the center also conducts mental health counseling for some area group homes and other agencies that serve juveniles.

"It's going to be a great move for us and we're looking forward to it," Alan Siebel said.
