AID — As Steven Tyler might say, “Walk This Way.”

The Symmes Valley Vikings combined 15 walks, two hit batsmen and seven hits to crush the New Boston Tigers 19-1 on Tuesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“It was ugly, but it was a win. We’ve got a young team so we need the confidence,” said Vikings’ coach Chad Renfroe.

Michael Williams went four innings to get the win. He gave up two hits, struck out five and walked three. Dylan McFann pitched a perfect fifth inning and struck out two.

Tanner Mays and Casey Coburn both doubled as the Vikings had seven hits.

A walk, an error and two hit batsmen along with hits by D.J. Miller, Alec Herrell, Mitch Corn and Cody Myers staked the Vikings to an 8-0 lead in the first inning.

Five walks and a sacrifice fly by Cody Myers made it 15-1.

Casey Coburn had a 2-run double and McFann an RBI single in a four-run fifth.
