GALLIPOLIS — The hit parade took a detour.

Fairland’s hot-hitting cooled off as the Lady Dragons lost 3-2 to the Gallipolis Blue Angels on Thursday.

“Our hitting didn’t show up,” said Fairland coach Joe Auxier. “We hit but not in the right spots.”

Gallipolis (5-3) scored three runs in the third inning and Fairland got its two runs in the sixth.

Chelsey Stanley singled, Jaimie Phillips had a sacrifice and Mackenzie Riley lined an RBI double. Haley Woodall tripled home Riley but was left stranded.

Kerie Napier was 2-3 to lead Fairland (7-1).
