Ladies 9-Hole plays again

PINE GROVE — The Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association of the Ironton Country Club was back on the links as they began the season as usual with its annual buffet and fun day.

Officers were retained from last year with Pat Lambert serving as chairman, Nancy Livingston vice-chairman, Joyce Lewis secretary and publicity, and Betty Fraley historian.

Other committee members include Cecilia Woods and Joyce Fields as sunshine, Pat Riggs tournaments and Shirley Gleim birdie and par tree.

After dividing into groups , a par three was enjoyed by members on the sunny day. The winning group consisted of Riggs, Lewis, Livingston, Wanda Spears and Rose Auble.

Last Tuesday, the weekly business meeting was conducted by Lambert with Lewis serving as hostess and supplying refreshments and gold pairings.

Members who were announced as winners of events were Lambert, Woods and Fraley with Jones and Riggs winning two events.

The annual Ringer Tournament was posted and began on Tuesday as well. It will continue throughout the entire golf season.

Next week’s hostess will be Riggs.

Meetings begin at 9:30 a.m. and nine holes of golf start at 10. Interested ladies may contact any club member regarding information. New members are always welcome.
