FRANKLIN FURNACE — It was an early version of senior night.

Seniors Cody Bruce, Colton Brammer and Steve Ratcliff keyed a 12-0 five-inning win over the New Boston Tigers on Wednesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

Bruce was 2-2 at the plate with two doubles and three runs scored. On the mound he struck out 12, walked one, gave up only two hits and hit a batter.

Brammer was 3-3 with four runs batted in and Ratcliff was 3-3 with a double and three RBI.

“Our seniors stepped up tonight and played like seniors,” said Green coach Dan McDavid. “Cody Bruce pitched and hit well and Colton Brammer and Steve Ratcliff both stepped up.”

Green (8-3) is tied with Symmes Valley and Notre Dame atop of the SOC at 6-1.

After a scoreless first inning, Green got three runs in the second on a double by Bruce and RBI singles by Brammer, Ratcliff and Adam Riffitt.
