PEDRO — Rock Hill Redmen coach Barry Litteral must have been listening to Elvis singing “I’m All Shook Up” before Wednesday’s game against the River Valley Raiders.

Litteral altered his lineup and it produced 11 hits and a 15-5 Ohio Valley Conference win in six innings over the Raiders.

“We shook up the lineup a little bit and the kids responded with some offense,” said Litteral. “Our seven, eight and nine hitters were 4-for-6 with eight runs scored.”

Laden Delawder was 3-3 with four runs scored, Jared Bruce 2-2 and two runs scored and Austin Kidd 1-1 with two sacrifice bunts and two runs scored to lead the Redmen offense.

Bruce went the first four innings to get the win. Johnathan Joseph finished up.

Matt Jenkins walked, stole second and scored on Delawder’s base hit to start a three-run second inning.

Drew Kidd was hit by a pitch and Bruce had a two-run triple.

The Redmen got a run in the third when Drew Kidd doubled and Jenkins singled.

River Valley briefly took a 5-4 lead. The Raiders used four walks and two errors to help score five runs in the top of the fourth inning.

But Rock Hill answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning.

Delawder singled, Bruce and Jonah Cox walked and Evan Morris reached on an error as a run scored. Cox scored on a wild pitch and Jenkins was safe on an error as two more runs scored.

“We pulled together other than the one bad inning. We played pretty well,” said Litteral.

Rock Hill scored six more runs in the fifth inning to make it 14-5.

Jordan Hairston, Delawder and Austin Kidd all singled for a run and Bruce doubled home two more.

An error scored a run, Morris walked and stole second and Jeknins had an RBI single. Depriest then had a triple to clear the bases.

The Redmen ended the game with a run in the sixth when Delawder walked, Austin Kidd had a sacrifice bunt and Delawder came around on two wild pitches.

Thanks to South Point’s win over Fairland, Rock Hill (12-3, 7-0) now holds a two-game lead in the OVC over the Dragons.

Rock Hill visits Coal Grove on Monday.
