Three men found out the price for not following their probation orders Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

In separate cases, Judge Charles Cooper sentenced the men to prison for violating the terms of their community control sanctions (CCS).

Adult Probation Officer Lynn Stewart testified during a CCS trial that James E. Curry Jr., 20, of 112 Ramey St., Coal Grove, who had previously denied the violation, had not reported to her or the probation office since August 2011.

Stewart also said Curry’s court fines had not been paid, which was a condition of his CCS.

Curry originally pleaded guilty to one count of attempted burglary in 2010. Cooper sentenced him to four years CCS and ordered him to successfully complete a rehabilitation program at the STAR Community Justice Center.

Wednesday, Cooper sentenced Curry to finish the remainder of his CCS sentence in prison, which is about two years and four months.

Curry was represented by attorney Scott Evans.

Joshua Johnson, 24, of 1854 Enslow Ave., Huntington, W.Va., admitted his CCS violation through his attorney, Mike Gleichauf.

Cooper sentenced Johnson to three years in prison and granted a family visitation.

Another Huntington resident, Norman Ross, 42, of 208 Rear Main St., also admitted a CCS violation. Ross was represented by attorney Warren Morford.

Cooper sentenced Ross to eight months in prison and granted a family visitation.
