FRANKLIN FURNACE — Autumn Griffith was just that good.

Griffith came within one batter of a perfect game as the Portsmouth Clay Lady Panthers beat the Green Lady Bobcats 10-0 in six innings on Wednesday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“She was tough. We got the bat on the ball, but we didn’t hit anything hard,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

Griffith struck out eight, walked none and the only baserunner came on an error.

Micah Lewis struck out two and walked three in taking the loss.

Green (8-13, 5-6) plays New Boston on Friday.
