PEDRO — The Rock Hill Redwomen were good, but they needed to be lucky.

Despite an outstanding pitching performance by Sami Nixon, the Redwomen lost a 1-0 heartbreaker to the Minford Lady Falcons on Friday in the Division III sectional finals.

Nixon and Minford’s Kelsey Conkey locked up in a scoreless duel for six innings until Elizabeth Brisker drove in the game’s only run in the top of the seventh.

Kenzi Martin was 1-3 with a double while Morgan Schug was 1-3 and Lindy Simpson 1-2 for Rock Hill’s three hits.

Rock Hill ends the season 16-7.
