Vivian Stewart

Vivian Stewart, 86, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012, with her family and friends at her side. She was born Aug. 5, 1925, to the late Ira Thomas and Virginia (Roberts) See. In addition to her parents Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, William “Bill” Howard Johnson, her second husband, Roy Richard Stewart, and a son, William “Bo” Howard Johnson Jr.

She was a member of Sedgwick Methodist Church, Ironton. She earned a master’s degree in teaching from Marshall University and was employed by the Boyd County School System where she retired. She was also a member of the Kentucky Colonels.

She is survived by one son, Mark Thomas (Alice) – Greenhalgh Johnson of Silverton, Ore.; one daughter, Sherry Johnson Williams of Ironton; three granddaughters, Vivian Williams (Kevin) Schug of Coal Grove, Madison Reliford (Jarod) Leffingwell of South Point and Kimberly (Patrick) Cruz of Jacksonville, Fla; five grandsons, William “Bill” Charles (Lee) Williams of Louisville, Ky., Andy (Cherah) Greenhalgh – Johnson of Siverton, Ore., Nat Greenhalgh – Johnson of Eugene, Ore., Tim Greenhalgh – Johnson of Silverton, Ore., and William Howard Johnson III of Sanford, Fla; one stepson, Danny Stewart of Ashland, Ky.; one step-grandson, David Stewart of Ironton; one sister, Nancy See Turman of Ashland, Ky; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with Rev. Willard Metz officiating. Interment will follow in Ashland Cemetery, 1518 Belmont St., Ashland, Ky. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Bonnie Skeen

Bonnie Kay Skeens, 62 of Waterloo, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Cornerstone Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.

She was born April 12, 1950, to the late Thomas and Lottie Louise (Canter) Hughes.

Bonnie loved flowers, gardening, vacationing at the beach and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her one true love, Gary Owens of Waterloo; two daughters, Kimberly (Charles) Jarrett of Pedro and Lisa (Mike) Wills of Crown City; one son, Carl (Johnett) Skeens of Patriot; grandchilden, William Caplinger, Jr., Candace Caplinger, Jessica Skeens, Alec Skeens, Jeryl Ross, Laykin Ross and Ryan Ross; and great grandchildren, Delia Ross, Jaelyn Caudill, Xzavier Fergurson and Joshlyn Caplinger and Maddie Creames.

Funeral service 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home (formerlly Kuhner-Lewis Funeral Home, 202 Maple Ave. Oak Hill) with Pastor Robert Dudding officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Elizabeth Cremeans

Elizabeth B. Cremeans 73, of Marysville, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Heartland of Marysville. The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 23, 1938, the daughter of the late John and Grace Null Tibbs.

Mrs. Cremeans was a 1956 graduate of Rock Hill High School and was the former owner and manager of O.K. Motors in Dayton. She was also of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Roy Cremeans; a daughter, Jolinda Tibbs; two brothers, Donald Tibbs and Albert Tibbs; and two brothers-in-law: Charles Blankenship and Bob Lewis.

She is survived by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Sara Lewis of Dayton, Margaret and Cecil Chatfield of New Carlisle and Virginia Blankenship of New Carlisle; a special niece, Lavena and Bobby Barrett of West Mansfield; two great nephews, Kevin Barrett, and Michael and Anna Barrett; a great great nephew, Zachariah Barrett; and several other nieces and nephews.

Lovada Hall, 83, of Flatwoods, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Abundant Life Church, Raceland, Ky., by Dr. Anthony Keaton. Burial will be in Caroline Cemetery.
