PROCTORVILLE - A perfect run gave the Fairland Little League All-Stars a chance to run some more.

Fairland won the 11-12-year-old District 11 Little League championship Monday with an 11-5 win over Wheelersburg, thus earning a berth in the state tournament.

The win capped a perfect run through the district tournament. Fairland blanked Northwest 10-0, beat Chillicothe 5-3, routed Wheelersburg 12-1 and South Point 13-1.

Wheelersburg won the loser's bracket and needed to win twice in order to take the district title. Fairland erased Wheelersburg's hopes with its fifth straight victory.

Long fired a no-hitter in the first Wheelersburg game.

The Fairland all-stars will face Dayton, the District 3 representative, in the double elimination tournament. The double elimination state tournament will be held July 23-29 near Cleveland in Jefferson.
