Fair parade set for Saturday

ROME TOWNSHIP — Supporters of the fair are encouraged to show up Saturday at the Kroger parking lot in Proctorville for the inaugural fair parade. Members of the community and 4-H clubs will march to the fair grounds.

Those wanting to march are asked to be at the Kroger lot at 8 a.m. Saturday. Then at 10 a.m. there will be a ribbon cutting for the new fair barn.

 

Bid For Kids’ Sake rescheduled

The 7th Annual Bid For Kids’ Sake to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-State has been rescheduled for today at 7 p.m. at Bellefonte Country Club. The silent and live auction will feature many exciting items like sports memorabilia, trips, jewelry, themed baskets and more. Admittance is $15 per person or $25 per couple. All proceeds will benefit the local agency. For more information call 1-800-971-2101.

Chesapeake resident named to dean’s list

Berea, Ky. — Chesapeake resident Andrew K. Kyle has been named to the Spring 2012 Dean’s List at Berea College. A student is named to the Dean’s List who achieves a GPA of 3.2 or higher for a minimum course load equivalent to 16 semester hours.

 

Proctorville resident graduates from Marquette University

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Julie Prislipsky of Proctorville has graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee Prislipsky earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Physical Therapy.

Prislipsky was one of nearly 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students who received their diplomas May 20 at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

 

Minford class of ‘77 reunion set

Music, dancing, fellowship and food will all be part of the 35th year Minford High School Class of 1977 Class Reunion on Saturday, Aug. 18 at Shawnee State Resort Park Lodge. Social hour and registration will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Cost to attend is $30 per person or $70 per couple.
