PINE GROVE — The Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association of the Ironton Country Club met for the weekly Tuesday morning golf event the past two weeks with Wanda Spears and Pat Riggs serving as hostesses, respectively.

Both provided refreshments and planned the prize events for the day along with pairings for play.

Extreme heat conditions prevented play the previous week.

Following the return to the clubhouse for lunch, the winners were announced by Spears: Sharon Fox and Jane Mains winning two events. Riggs announced winners from her week: Joyce Lewis, Georgia Willis, Jamie Dyer and Riggs herself.

This Tuesday’s hostess will be Johnna Jones. Due to the high heat index, golfing begins earlier than usual with teeing off immediately following a brief business meeting set to start at 9 a.m.
