The Wheelersburg man who pleaded guilty to the February hold-up of Lincoln Savings and Loan will serve seven years in prison for it.

Kenneth L. Musick, 43, was sentenced yesterday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court. He pleaded guilty May 29 to second-degree robbery.

Ironton police say Musick went into the Park Avenue bank and showed tellers a metal box that he said was a bomb.

After handing tellers a black duffel bag to put the money in, he exited the building and was apprehended by two police officers while walking toward his car.

After his arrest, he told police the device was not a bomb. Police said the box

contained electrical wires

running into a mass of gray putty. On top of the putty, Musick had taped four AA batteries. He also claimed a television remote control was the detonation device.

This won't be Musick's first trip to prison. According to information from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, Musick was sent to prison on Dec. 31, 1991 for a robbery in Scioto County.

Musick was sentenced to a minimum of five years in prison, but his sentence was suspended and he was released on April 26, 1993. Teresa Moore/The Ironton Tribune
