April 3.1917-June 13, 2002Robert J. &uot;Bob&uot; Carley, 85, of Ironton died Thursday at his residence.

The Ashville native was born April 3, 1917, the son of the late James and Mable Anderson Carley.

He was the husband of the late Mary Katherine &uot;Kate&uot; Holtz Carley, who died in 1994.

He was retired from Allied Chemical in South Point and also worked with the Pipefitters Local #577 in Portsmouth. He also was a member of the Memorial Methodist Church in Coal Grove, the Ironton Masonic Lodge #198 and the BPOE #577 in Circleville.

He had lived in Ironton since 1936.

In addition to his parents and wife, he also was preceded in death by

two brothers, Clifford Carley and Ralph Carley; and a sister, Louise Harris.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Cowan of Circleville; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Calvary Cemetery, with the Rev. Gerald Fields officiating. Visitation will be 12 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home.
