Donald Baker, II, 24, of Portsmouth and his passenger, Sue D. Radabaugh, 32, of Lucasville were stopped yesterday for going 61 mph in a 55 mph zone. Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Lea Mikes issued Baker a warning when she noticed the mild odor of the drug.

A search of the car revealed a burnt marijuana cigarette in the ashtray and a full joint in the driver seat. Under the passenger seat, the trooper found 6.5 grams of methamphetamine and some rolling papers. The trooper searched Baker and found more rolling papers, and searched Radabaugh and found a glass pipe which contained marijuana residue and a plastic pipe with meth residue.

Baker was charged with driving under suspension, no seatbelt, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of drugs for distribution. Radabaugh was charged with no seatbelt, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of drugs for distribution. Both are in the Lawrence County Jail.

Police estimate the meth carried a street value of about $1,000.
