ALBANY – If Symmes Valley Lady Vikings coach Lisa Bryant was worried before the game, she was quite relieved afterwards.

After winning the two regular season game, the Lady Vikings beat the South Gallia Lady Rebels ended with Symmes Valley.

"This was the third time we played and anytime you play a team that many times, especially in the tournament, you get a little concerned," Bryant said.

Keren Bell scored 19 points and had nine rebounds to lead the Lady Vikings. Anna Bodmer had seven points and Jessica Slagle grabbed nine rebounds.

"Our seniors Keren Bell and Jessica Slagle stepped it up on the boards. They each had nine rebounds and played aggressively on defense," Bryant said.

Tosha Pelfrey scored 14 points to lead South Gallia. Leading scorer Holly Haner was limited to four points.

"We played real well defensively and held Holly Hane to only six points on the night," Bryant said. "Anna Bodmer, Dusty Martin and Cassie Myers took turns on containing Haner. All three did an excellent job holding her to six points."

Bodmer had four points as the Lady Vikings raced to a 9-1 lead.

Both teams scored four points the second quarter and then the Lady Vikings were up 13-5 at the break.

Bell scored seven points the third quarter but the Rebels cut the spread to 22-16. Bell got six more the fourth quarter.
