The Huntington St. Joe Lady Fighting Irish took a big lead the first half and went on to beat the Ironton St. Joe Female Flyers 45-24 Monday.

Susan Zappin scored 19 points to lead the Lady Fighting Irish. Jessica Thomas added seven points while Carrie Posey and Nasha Hamra added six each.

Christina Harvey scored 13 points to lead the Female Flyers.

Zappin scored 17 points the first half as the Lady Irish jumped out to a 30-9 first half lead and went on to their fifth win against seven loss.

The Female Flyers host Fairview, Ky., Thursday.
