SCIOTOVILLE — Justin Crager had his third straight 300-plus rushing game and eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark after just three games as the East Tartans beat the Green Bobcats 40-20 on Friday.

Crager had 384 yards rushing on 25 carries and scored four touchdowns as East (3-0) racked up 578 total yards including 543 on the ground.

East’s Tyler Bradford added 154 yards on 17 carries.

Green (2-1) was led by Kyle Frazier with 128 yards on seven carries. He also had 135 return yards.

Levi Mollett ran 11 times for 55 yards, Rob Applegate had 50 yards on 10 carries and Clay Applegate 37 yards on seven tries.

Mark Martin had an interception.

“I’m proud of our kids effort,” said Green coach Dan McDavid. “Our kids played hard. They got tired and the injuries took their toll, but they played with a lot of heart and intensity.”

Crager scored on a 67-yard run to put East up 7-0, but Frazier returned the kickoff 85 yards for a score. Levi Mollett kicked the conversion and it was 7-7.

A 55-yard scoring run by Crager made it 14-7 but Frazier broke free on an 85-yard jaunt and it was 14-14 at the half.

Lineman Sam Elliott recovered a fumble in the end zone and Crager had a 1-yard run as East took a 26-14 lead in the third quarter.

Crager put the game away with a 68-yard run.

Green wouldn’t quit as Frazier ran 33 yards for a TD and it was 34-20.

Bradford tacked on an insurance touchdown.
