SOUTH POINT — The South Point Pointers just needed to “Lien” on the New Boston Tigers.

Lien scored the tiebreaker goal and assisted on the next goal as the Pointers beat New Boston 4-2 on Saturday in a soccer game.

South Point took a 2-0 first half lead on unassisted goals by Jeremiah Kipp and Mario Palladino.

But Michael Mohr scored twice in the second half for New Boston to tie the game.

Lien answered with an unassisted goal at the 58:00 mark to put the Pointers up for good and he assisted Alex Whitt for a goal 11 minutes later.

South Point goalie Brady Rickard had five saves.

The Pointers (4-1-1) play at Ironton St. Joseph on Thursday.
