New floral and gift shop set to open

Ironton will soon have a new floral and gift shop.

Family Creations Floral and Gifts, located at 212 S. Third St., will have its grand opening Saturday, Sept. 22.

“I’ve always wanted to do this,” co-owner Tami Skaggs said. Her sister, Leah Harmon, is also involved in the new business. “We’re going to have floral arrangements, primitive items, candy bouquets gifts and homemade baskets. We’re also going to have some Ohio State stuff.”

The store will also stock the Warm Glow candle and gifts, possibly the only store in the area to carry this product line.

Skaggs said some of the items for sale will be handmade by local craftsmen.

The new shop is located in the former Browse-A-Bit building.

The hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The store will be closed Sundays.

The grand opening will feature a coloring contest for children, refreshments and door prizes all day.
