The Lawrence County Grand Jury indicted 10 area residents this week, county prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr. said.

All must appear in Common Pleas Court to answer charges. Those indicted were:

– Flint Topping, 29, of 2762 County Road 124, Chesapeake: Charged with two counts rape, first-degree felonies.

– Thomas L. Dunn, Princeton, W.Va., (currently in the Lawrence County jail): Charged with burglary, second-degree felony; and disrupting public service. Charges relate to a January 2000 incident.

– Richard Bruce, 22, of 318 Pine St., Ironton: Charged with felony breaking and entering. Bruce allegedly broke into the Ironton city impound lot on May 30, the indictment said.

– Lora E. Clutters, 20, of 2321 County Road 22, Ironton: Charged with receiving stolen property, fourth-degree felony.

– Jeffery S. Spencer, 23, of 248 Township Road 11163, Proctorville: Charged with receiving stolen property, fourth-degree felony; attempt to commit aggravated burglary, second-degree felony; failure to comply with order or signal of a police officer, third-degree felony; assault on a peace officer, fourth-degree felony; resisting arrest, second-degree misdemeanor; escape, fifth-degree felony. Incidents allegedly occurred on June 9; Spencer is a co-defendant with Clutters, indictments said.

– Cheryl Marcel Simmons, 30, of 7965 Ohio 7, Lot 4B, Proctorville: Charged with receiving stolen property, fourth-degree felony; and attempt to commit aggravated burglary, second-degree felony. She is a co-defendant with Clutters and Spencer on at least one charge, according to indictments.

– Tom Butler, 40, of 920 High St., Coal Grove: Charged with receiving stolen property, fifth-degree felony; and forgery, fifth-degree felony.

– Joseph R. Thompson, 23, of 1107 N. Second St., Ironton: Charged with burglary, second-degree felony. Offense allegedly occurred June 11 at a local residence, the indictment said.

– Chester W. Meade, 37, of 803 Township Road 126, Scottown: Charged with grand theft of firearms, fourth-degree felony; grand theft of a motor vehicle (November 2000), fourth-degree felony; grand theft of vehicle (May 14, 2001), fourth-degree felony; theft, fifth-degree felony; theft of medication, third-degree felony.
