COAL GROVE – Working overtime paid pretty well as far as the Rock Hill Redmen are concerned.

The Redmen outscored the Coal Grove Hornets 8-2 in overtime as they posted a 57-51 Ohio Valley Conference win Friday night.

Rock Hill (3-8, 1-3) was 6-of-7 from the line in the extra period and Robbie McClellan had four points including two of the free throws.

For the game, McClellan, a freshman, had 15 points while sophomore David Schug led the Redmen with a game-high 21 points.

Coal Grove (6-6, 1-3) was paced by Jason Adams with 14 points. Ryan Young and Joe Sark had 10 each.

Rock Hill jumped out to a 17-12 lead the first quarter as Gabe Ruggles scores six of his nine points. Adams had six points to keep the Hornets close.

The defense limited Coal Grove to eight points the second quarter as Rock Hill built a 28-20 halftime lead.

Coal Grove came storming out of the locker room and outscored the Redmen 19-9 to take a 39-37 lead. Beau Webb had seven points including a 3-pointer to spark the comeback.

Schug got six points the fourth quarter while Young did the same for the Hornets, but Rock Hill managed to tie the game at 49-49 and send it into overtime.

In the reserve game, Coal Grove won 33-23 as Justin Gibson scored 14 and Zack Nance 9. David Martin had five points while Mitchell Kerns, Roger Joseph, and Derrick Martin had four each.
