Ohio’s polls don’t close until 7:30 p.m. tonight. Hopefully, by the time you read this, you will have already cast your ballot for the local, state and national elections.

But just in case you haven’t, there is still time to go out and spend 15 minutes or so to help choose the men – and possibly women – who will take charge of your country for the next few years.

You might think that an individual’s vote does not make a difference. After all, one vote couldn’t possibly swing an election.

Well, the fact is, a single vote can and has made a difference in local, state and national elections in the past – and it could be a factor this year, too.

But, more importantly, you should vote because you can.

One of the best parts of being an American is that you get to choose who will represent you in local, state and national government.

That is a right to be cherished and a responsibility that should not be shirked.

There is even still time if you want to review a little bit about the candidates before you cast your ballot. Head to the library and look at some past issues of the newspaper and check out some of the candidates’ positions.

Then, let your voice be heard. Who knows, your vote might just be the one that decides one of this year’s races.
