PEDRO — The old cliché says you can’t coach size or speed.

The South Point Lady Pointers used the size of 5-foot-11 Brett Justice, 5-11 Lakin Adams and 5-9 Aundrea Bradburn to control the boards and help fuel a 68-31 win over the Rock Hill Redwomen Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“They were big down inside and we didn’t match up. We didn’t rebound. They killed us on the glass,” said Rock Hill coach Greg Damron.

“We were more patient with the ball, we just couldn’t get anything to fall.”

Justice scored 20 points and Bradburn had 12 points to lead South Point (1-3, 1-0).

Katie Johnson scored 12 points, Brook Knipp 7 and Kaci Russell 5 to lead the Redwomen offense. Kelsey Blagg grabbed six rebounds.

South Point led 13-7 after the first quarter and 26-14 at the half.

The lead was 42-22 after three quarters before the Lady Pointers put the game away in the fourth quarter.

Rock Hill (1-2, 0-1) hosts Coal Grove next Thursday. South Point entertains Ironton on Monday.
